Where can i apply for Fishing Jobs in Kodiak Alaska?

Im giong to be saving up money to move to Kodiak Alaska and am wondering about any fishing jobs they have there, and where to apply. After i make more money, im going to apply for crab jobs in the Dutch Harbor, but i know its very expensive, so want to live in Kodiak for a while. Any links where i can apply for fisherman jobs in Kodiak?

You could put your name down on a website along with 50,000 other people, but my advice would be to get yourself to Alaska somehow ( most processing plants will pay for your flight), get yourself a job at a processing plant, so you can be around the industry and learn how to cut bait, and in what little spare time you have left after cutting fish all day, you can visit the docks and try to get yourself on to one these boats. I don't mean to discourage you but this is what it will take and even then there are no guarantees., The best example you can pay attention to right now in my opinion is to watch Jake Anderson on the F/V Northwestern on the deadliest catch, look at what this guy has sacrificed to have a spot on this boat, are you sure you're ready for that? If so, good for you and I'm sure the industry will glad to have you, just make sure you're ready for it. Keep in mind, after two seasons with this boat, one of the highliners in Alaska, he is still only at a half share. Although that will change in 2009, again, Bud, just make sure you're ready for what you're asking for.

Is just isn't that easy.

There are no links or applications, and the fishing (Esp the crabbing) jobs are tough to get.

Your best bet is to head up to Dutch Harbor or one of the other fishing ports and look for work on the docks.

Work your butt off for a season or 2 doing grunt work- in one of the factories or as a dock hand. Maybe even getting on one of the floating fish factories.

After a while of making connections, then maybe you can pull off a fishing job.
