I'm applying to colleges this fall, & NEED scholarship money: grants/loans.

I'm planning on being an opera major, are there any scholarships i can audition for? Classical voice please. I'm already going to audition for LA's spotlight awards. Any other options please?

Websites with options or specifics would be great.

Thanks!

  1. Most scholarships are granted by the college themselves.  Make sure you audition EARLY - when the money is gone, it is gone.  So if you can get a December audition date, grab it.  Between now and then, you and your private teacher must work your BUTT off.  The LA Spotlight is more than ikely a waste of your time and energy.

If you no NOT have a very fine, degreed, credentialed, experienced private voice teacher, you probably will NOT be accepted as an opera major.  You probably know that - but many other people are reading this post, too, So I had to put that in.  Lots of people SAY they want to major in music - they have ABSOLUTELY no idea how competitive nad difficult it is.  Medical school is easier - people WANT doctors - and there are too many musicians already!
