  1. Only one I could find was this £4500 Pioneer!

  2. Most plasmas and LCDs already have a VGA port on them. My LCD was only €399 and I when I hooked my computer up to it, the TV registered as a plug-and-play monitor so there was no messy setup or configuration. A couple of  things you'll notice though are that

A: Because you're TV is widescreen, you'll only see half of the window on the vertical so theres a lot of scrolling and

B: You won't get sound from yuor TV but from the speakers you have on your PC. You can hook your PC up to an amp or hifi system with an "aux in" port and it works just fine. Great for watching all those downloaded films on big screen!

  3. A 60" screen for less than £1,000 will be total rubbish, as will a 50" screen for under £600 (assuming you can find anything at all, at such cheap prices).

You either need a bigger budget, or a smaller screen.

  4. Try the Comet website and check prices

  5. Hi Robbo,

For under £1000 you can get the Samsung PS50A456 for around £720, this is a 50" Plasma HD Ready screen. Unfortunately, for sizes above 50" you will likely be looking at £1000+

Have you considered a Home Cinema Projector? Most Projectors are capable of easily producing an 80" or larger picture, and if they feature High Definition, then the picture will be as clear and precise as many Plasma's or LCD TV's that are on the market. HD Ready projectors start at around £395, although for a high quality and reliable projector I would take a look at the HD65 by Optoma. At around £470 it is HD Ready, and produces a great picture if you have a suitable backdrop.

Hope this helps on your search for HD TV!
