  1. I would be careful with them. Here in Australia there was a great big thing about them last year. Sometimes there can be hidden fees.

  2. WalMart, Target, CVS, Rite-Aid, Stop & Shop, etc.

Most pharmacies/general convenience stores carry MasterCard, Visa, and/or AMEX gift cards.  You can even find them in a lot of gas stations.

Oh, and you can certainly order them online.

You can also use their websites along with your zipcode to find a place near you that sells them.

  3. If you want a Visa gift card, depending where you are, the wisest decision/cheapest decision would be to find a "Simon" owned mall near you, and buy a gift card from their guest services counter, most always in the middle of the mall.

They only charge a $2.00 activation fee/handling fee, which is dollars cheaper than buying a Visa gift card from like Walgreens or similar places. You can also put any amount from $20 to $500 dollars. In case the gift card is for a special event or anything, they have 6+ different styles/designs on the cards (including an Olympic themed one till the end of August, it comes with an special olympic CD ROM...and thats for a cheap $3 handling/activation fee)

Plus, with Simon Visa Gift Cards, you have access to a web site where you can check your balances and transactions, like you would with a regular debit card. You can also order your Simon Visa Gift Card online and actually get your name put on the gift card, or even a message. That option will get be delivered to your house in 5-7 days.
