JTexas, That was really cool. I have always been intrigued of the thought of a diesel outboard since I saw a 27hp Yanmar outboard at the Miami Boat Show in 1991. Thanks for the link.

It depends on just how much you are willing to spend on it.  The going price for an inboard/outboard motor up to 150 horsepower is about 5,000 to 6,000 dollars.  So, you can either go to the nearest showroom or specialty boating shop and get it for a little more than the mentioned price, or you can go to a boating shop and have the man behind the counter order one up for you.  If you choose that path, it will probably cost a little bit more.

My father bought a 9.8 horsepower trolling/kicker motor online for about 1,500 dollars, but it took him about two weeks of online surfing to find the best deal.
