  1. Good luck. My canoe costs $1,255 (without stuff like paddles, PFDs, and dry bags). Of course my canoe is designed for 1,100 pounds of people and gear, so if you don't need that they are a lot less.

Your best bet is eBay because the lower end canoes are inflatable and good for paddling around a puddle. They run for about $250. It will be hard to find a quality canoe for less than $300.

Most of the canoes on eBay are in the $200-$300 price range, but there are a few that run for around $100. I would however like to warn you about cheap canoes. It really sucks when you are a mile away from shore and your canoe breaks. It's even worse when you have 200 pounds of gear in it and the bottom collapses.

  2. try craigs list..

                                    www.craigslist.com

  3. Ebay.com, or Overstock.com.  I'm sure there are other sites out there as well.  Just browse the net.

  4. It's end of season, so if you live near an outfitter give them a call,l they sell off their oldest equipment and you should get a deal.  Be careful though, under a 100 could also be unsafe.  Check it out carefully/

  5. craigslist.com is a p**n site,

    ITS craigslist.org

  6. I doubt you can, but, keep watching the Classifieds in your local paper. Look early and be ready to buy if one does show up, or, someone else will have it.

  7. http://cgi.ebay.com/ALL-WEATHER-CANOE-OR...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/canoe-lincoln-15_W0Q...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/17-Aluminum-Canoe-by...

Hope that kind of points you in the right direction.

  8. ebay?

  9. E-Bay

  10. There are likely thousands of canoes hanging up in garages, that are never used, but the owners hate to part with them. Your best bet is to put an ad in your community newspaper, or go to the sport shop that sells canoes and put an ad on their bulletin board. Someone who is buying a new canoe may be willing to let his or her old one go cheaply.

You don't say what kind of canoe you are interested in. Standard canoe, marathon canoe, outrigger canoe, kayak, surf ski? There are paddling clubs in most cities where, for a very reasonable fee, you can become a member, use the equipment and get coaching in paddling and racing techniques.

    Good luck!
