This not a wind up, you might try a good builders merchants, they are adjustable. Failing that try a gunsmiths.

Check you can actually persuade the child in question to wear them first, as kids (especially younger ones) can be quite stubborn about it.  Cos if you manage to buy some and then get a full scale paddy on your hands it was a waste of money

Children are resilient.  They can take the loudest noise going - they make most of it!  Unless you are thinking of setting off an atomic bomb in your garden - forget it.

Boots sell temporary plugs, obviously, but if you want proper moulded ear defenders you could try the Specsavers hearing centre (round the back of the main Specsavers premises up the road with the Nelson pub on the corner)
