My son is behind on his speech and we use communication flash cards with his therapist to help him. They are pictures on a card exp: ball, car, milk, snack, bath and he pick one off a board to tell us what he wants. Looking mostly for a web site i could order something like this from. I don't have a program either to do this so if you know of a good one that would help to.

  1. We got some number and alphabet flash cards as well as a gofish game at our local dollar store.  Loads of cool stuff.

  2. make your own if you cant find any

  3. I have found that you can usually find children's flash cards at teacher supply stores such  as office max or office depot. just take a look around in the teacher's section and you're sure to find them!

  4. Look in like K-Mart or Walmart . I have bought some there. Or maybe make some of your own that way there can be the picture and word recognition

  5. Go Through Magazines and cut out pictures, or take pictures of your son doing those things.  Paste them on 3"x5" cards, and put magnets on the back for the fridge, esp. for foods. At our local Headstart, we make books showing a child doing the 'right things' - sharing, helping, being nice with the books and toys, raising his hand- a little off the subject, but the children love to look at pictures of themselves.

This can be a fun activity to do together.  "Help me find a CAR" or "This dog looks like Fluffy"  You get the idea.

I also Love http://first-school.ws/.  They have all sorts of printables and downloads.  For as little a $8, you can access daycareresource.com, which has all sorts of activities for young children.  Of Course, there's always E-bay for flashcards and games.  Good Luck and God Bless.

  6. 99 cents stores

    staples

    target

    office max

This stores carry a variety of flash cards and they are not so expensive.

  7. I bought some for my 4 year old at Barnes & Nobles if you don't have one in your area you could check for a web site and see about ordering them from there.  The ones that I bought were really good and very well priced

  8. dltk.com has printable cards

  9. Look under ABC Educational Stores or similar and or e-bay! I found them in both
