i might take lessons but first where can i buy some figure skates

go to a sports store neer you or a specialty store. Thats where you find them

Agree with those above.

A pro shop at a skating rink would really be your best bet, that way you can be properly fitted for your boots. There is NOTHING that will hinder a beginning skater more than poorly fitted boots. Or boots that are TO stiff, high of a level, etc.

There are several skating rinks near you, call around to check and see if you can find someone to fit you. It shouldn't cost you anything, except an expensive pair of white boots with knives, er blades, on the bottom.

if you know your size, your best bet is online. Like hockeyworld.com or hockeygiant.com. Online pricing is usually the most competitive.
