1. Don't be fooled! WalMart has them but they're under a different name....Won Ton wrappers/skin (that's what they are called) are sold as egg roll wrappers too!...they're the same thing...I'm Chinese and my parents make wontons all the time along with egg roll there's really no difference except that egg roll are fried and wontons could be friend or steamed. I've seen them at walmart before...I think they are close to where they sell vegatarian hot dogs or whatever I think you can find them in either the chinese section or where they sell fruits and veggies...they're somewhere...

  2. If you have like a smith's or scolaris, they are usually in the area of the greens...

  3. They aren't too hard to make yourself.

    WON TON WRAPPERS

    4 c. flour

    1 tsp. salt

    2 eggs, beaten

    1 c. cold water

Sift flour and salt into a large bowl, add eggs and water. Mix until ingredients can be gathered into a ball. Knead just enough to make dough smooth but still soft. Do not over knead, or dough will become stiff. Divide into 4 equal balls and roll out each ball on a lightly floured surface into a square 14 inches by 1/16 inch thick. Cut with a sharp knife into 3 1/2 inch squares. Cover with a damp cloth if dough must sit a while.

COMMENTARY: Rolling the dough between plastic wraps simplifies the task and makes handling the thin sheets easier. Do this before cutting the sheets into squares.

  4. Where are you located?

You can find few of them in the frozen sections next to Phyllo pastries, or maybe at any specialty supermarkets that cater foreign ingredients.

If you cannot find wonton shells - you next bet would be phyllo pastry sheets instead. If you cannot find it, just improvise and use anything that is similar.

  5. they have them in the refrigerator section, not frozen section of major grocery stores.

  6. Can't find anything. Sorry. But, Wonton is a Chinese cuisines, and it's best that you find out the ingredients and home-make it. I read that you can use dough to make the wrappers yourself.

  7. I don't remember them being called Shells..

but the wraps in my city are with the vegetable goods..

    you just need to ask

  8. Wal-mart usually have them in the produce section along with tofu and kimchee things like that, but also look for an Asian market near you, they always have just about anything you could want or imagine

  9. Assuming U mean one-ton shells: contact the Department of Defense - But U better have a GOOD reason ....

  10. okay, so, I dont know where you live or anything but if you can get to a cubfoods, or cashwise, thats where we get them:D

  11. If you mean won ton wrappers they can be found in all the major food chains in the produce section.

  12. I've seen wonton and eggroll wrappers for sale in the produce section, just refrigerated. In the regular supermarkets.

  13. They aren't shells, they're dough wraps. Try the chinese supermarket in Chinatown, usually they have it. Or japanese ones, if there are ones near your place.

A note on using them: they're quite fragile, and need to be kept dry, if you wet it, then they break apart. Make sure you make strong overlapping creases when you close them, if it breaks during boil, they're very messy. And finally, make sure you get the thin type, if they're too thick, the inside won't cook, and the wonton takes like thick dough, and that'd be disgusting.
