  1. simple: plug your stereo's harness in, you prollly got two harnesses, a speaker harness, and power harness, follow the yellow wire on the power harness and just shove your remote wire into the yellow connecter on your cars stereo harness.   DONE and no "12v fuse testthis test that connect that" none of that complicated stuff. =]

  2. If your not going to use a head unit then the simplest way is to install the turn on wire to a SWITCHED 12vdc power source at the fusebox and the amp.

Noticed I said Switched; this way the amp will turn off when your car is off. Take voltage readings at a fuse on the fuse box and find one that drops to zero when you turn the car off and 12vdc when the car is on.

You CAN use an UnSwitched 12vdc power, but you have to make darned sure to turn that switch OFF when your out of the car so the battery doesn't drain down from the amp when parked.

For safety, install a small (2 amp) switch on this lead. You can get an in-line fuse holder from Radio Shack.

  3. As said above, connect the 'Remote' wire from the amp to a keyed power source. You could purchase a fuse tap for which ever type of fuses your vehicle uses and tap the circuit.

Some keyed sources are the windshield wipers, power windows, heater/AC blower motor, cigerette lighter plug (depends on vehicle). There are many more.

Make sure to install a fuse at the point where you tap the circuit with a fuse rated lower than the fuse that is protecting the circuit that you are tapping.
