try torrents. limewire uses torrents in a dumbed down way that hogs all your computer's resources.

if you don't know what torrents are read about them on wikipedia. there should be good articles there. that's how i started out.

good programs to use then would be either Vuze or uTorrent. uTorrent is more cpu friendly, but Vuze offers more. both will get you to where you want. It takes a while to set up for newbies, but you only set it up once.

I like to use FrostWire. it is similar to limewire but i think it is faster to use and doesn't give your computer viruses.
