  2. I think the hydroelectricity page on wikipedia is probably one of your best references for building a model of a hydroelectric dam. Check out especially the cut away drawing (second link below).

    You could build a model that looks like that cutaway fairly easily. It could be a flat model where you just use different colored paper to represent the various parts of the system just as the image does.

    If you are pretty good at building stuff you could make a three dimensional cutaway model. You could make the entire model out of a combination of foam-core board and colored construction paper. I would use hot melt glue to put it all together. You can get foam-core board at most drug stores they sell it in the school supplies section for science projects. If it was a smaller model you probably could use only paper. Again I think I would follow basic layout of the image to make the model
