  1. As far as im aware fireflies don't exist in the UK. There have been alot of reports of sighting but been disregarded as being other types of insects flying in beams of light. There is even an organisation set up to allow people to report any suspected sightings so they can be investigated.

Sorry i can't be of more help

Glow worms however have been spotted all over the country :)

  2. prob not round here mate

  3. I've never seen any in England (which isn't very helpful), but there is/was a camp site called "Roz Pin" at Pont Aven in Brittany, and the grass was alive with them at night, if you are ever in that area.

I guess you have a Museum in Nottingham (not been there since the early 40's) - a curator in the Natural History Section may be able to help if nobody comes up with a location here.

  4. not seen fireflies in uk ,but have found glow worms in the New Forest , Somerset and near Newbury. Lived in Long  Eaton for 5 yrs but never saw any in that area.

  5. on a larger hill where the gass grow freely and the environment has been untouv=ched and the area is the size of a 2 soccor fields. They come out at night, you'll see the tell tale orange light go over to them and find many in that area
