  1. the EU likes to identify devices with this number scheme....

    as the other poster said,it is a 47x10000 (4 zeros) in picofarads or to the more common (USA/NA) standard, it is a .47microfarad (.47mfd) cap.

    unless your circuit requires a type of dielectric, you can use just about anything as long as it totals .47mfd.

    You may need a specialized type, tantlum, silver mica, polystyrene, orange drop... what ever. in this case, you need the cap they recommend.

    To find a common cap, you can check out local service shops or mail order from big suppliers;

    www.partsexpress.com

    www.mcmelectronics.com

    www.mouser.com

    www.digikey.com

    www.debco.com

    an alternitive would be to locate a local ham radio op, may of us still build and repair electronics.

  2. just go to any electronic shop and ask for 474 cap means 47X10000=470 kpf (= .47 uf   i.e. micro farad) capacitor they are readily available because no one knows 474 so they are unable to give you.
