  1. There were many Model 16 Singers made. Yours was born on Feb. 27, 1952. At the Singer Elizabethport factory in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

    Its not antique yet. Antique is 100 years or older. It is Vintage though which is 50 years or older.

    I'm not sure what the 188 stands for unless it was the 188th one out of the 2000 made that year.

    Pretty cool anyway. Nice find.


  2. Call 1 800 4 singer and ask them what model you have and what year it was made.  At least, that's what I'm guessing you're asking.

    If you're asking how you can find a Singer sewing machine with that particular serial number, you may be out of luck.  Many older machines have been destroyed.  (the two letter followed by numbers series are post 1924; the AK series starts in the mid 1950s, which is not considered antique (antiques are a minimum of 100 years old).
