I'm looking for a wedding dress with sleeves. Most of the ones i've seen a really simple and ugly. I want one with 3/4 or short sleeves, A-line, white. I don't like the ones with the really long long trains.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

I like lace and tulle,...........anything pretty and very gurly!! lol.

    good luck!

  4. Some stores offer sleeve options on all of their strapless gowns.  The sleeves are very light and pretty.  They have cap sleeves, 3/4 length, etc.  My sister-in-law purchased a classy off white A-line with light beading from David's Bridal and attached their cap sleeves.  It turned out SO beautiful.  She ran into the same dillemma you did... the dresses with sleeves didn't fit right and they didn't have anything even close to what she invisioned.

  5. I wore a wedding dress that had 3/4 inch lace sleeves from Pronovias. Unfortunately that dress has been discontinued - but you should check out their website because they have lots of dresses with sleeves.

Here are a few others that I can suggest.

  8. Check out your favorite designers.

I love this dress from Maggie Sottero. I tried it on and I would have gotten it but my shoulders are broad and my arms are a little bigger so my range motion in the dress wasn't good.

Another idea would to be to find a strapless/spaghetti strap dress and a little bolero jacket to go over the top. (FYI many strapless dresses have removable spaghetti straps)

or....find a strapless dress you like and take it to a seamstress, she might be able to add sleeves to it.

  9. The reason why you are having problems is because it is the dead of summer and the Fall/Winter lines haven't come in yet.  Should almost any day.  I notice that our local David's Bridal is now having a $99 sale, so they'll get a lot of clearout for the new lines to arrive. I'm making my own dress with a historical bent, so haven't been looking at dresses. Otherwise, I'd give you some links.

  10. Some stores/lines have dresses which are specifically advertised as "modest". I didn't find out about this until too late, but there were a lot of nice dresses that had sleeves in those lines.

Or you can just add a jacket to a dress...

  12. I like this one a lot:

Here's that modest dress site the first girl was talking about.  They actually have some really cute things:

You might also want to look into finding the dress of your dreams, then taking it to a seamstress or tailor and having them add sleeves.  Personally, I am really self-conscious about my arms, so I found a dress that fit my body great, then had them add sleeves to it.  Perfect!

  13. I would suggest Googling "modest bridal" and also going on ebay and looking on there, you can buy dresses from China and they are cheap and BEAUTIFUL. I know several people who have gotten dresses on eBay from China and they were very happy with their results.

  14. I found mine with sleeves by going to brides.com.  You can browse dresses by sleeve type, and then if you find one you like they can tell you what stores near you carry it.  Good Luck!
