Where can i find a cheap double bass?

Looking for a first Upright Bass..

Preferrably under $2000

Anyone know where i can find one?

under 2000? you can go a long way with that. order an engelhardt offline from a number of sites. I suggest UptonBass.com because they have real-life store in Connecticut. I havent had a lot of experiencee with the ones the make the Upton Bass ones, but a good introductory engelhardt, or what have-you will run you about 1000-1800 and that will be more than adequate for what your looking for.

Let's see... i haven't purchased a bass yet, but i do intend to after i graduate. it all depends on where you live, if you know of a kenstanton music store, i would probablly go there. Another store, if you have one locally to you would be Sam Ash music stores. i hope this helps.
