  1. Your Flight to London, Great Britain (LHR)

    Departing: Mon, Aug 18 - Returning: Sun, Aug 31 | 1 Adult

    United Flight 7577 operated by UNITED EXPRESS/SHUTTLE AMERICA / Flight 920 10:16am

New York, NY (JFK)   6:55am - Tue, Aug 19

    Next day arrival

    London, Great Britain (LHR) 15hrs 39min - 1 Stop

Change planes in Washington, DC (IAD)

$885 per person (Including all taxes)

  2. Try traveljungle.co.uk, or check Virgin and British Airway's websites as they often have specials.  Otherwise Zoom Airways are a budget carrier you could try.

  3. I did a flight search for your dates on http://www.kayak.com and the cheapest flight I found was on Air India from JFK to Heathrow for $862.  Kayak is a great site that automatically searches your flight requirements on priceline, expedia, airline sites, etc. across the web.  If your dates are at all flexible I would recommend moving everything back one day and going from Aug 19th to Sept 2.  Mondays are one of the most expensive days to fly since they are so popular with business travelers.  Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the cheapest days to fly.  A kayak.com search of your flight for the dates I mentioned drops the price to $687 with Air India and presents more options under $1000.

I would also recommend going directly to the website of airlines that fly to London from NYC such as Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Aer Lingus, India Air etc. (avoid domestic American carriers if you can for many many reasons including bad service, high cancellation rates and new fees for just about everything).  Often times airlines offer better rates through their personal website than on the other booking sites like priceline and expedia.  Also, if a problem arises with your ticket it’s much easier to sort it out through the airline than through a third party site.  As I said kayak is great, but I would use the site more for getting an idea of what airlines you should be looking at and then book directly through that airline’s site.  Cheers!
