  1. Most of the horseback tours seem to be longer term propositions. Podere le Pialle near Firenze offers horseback riding at 35 euro per hour. phone 3339101404.

Vallebona is one of the places more oriented toward riding holidays, but they seem to have hourly rates too. They're east of Firenze: via di Grignano, 32 Pontassieve 50065 Italia - tel +39.055.839 72 46

    Other possibilities:

Badia Montescalri Via Montescalari, 129 La Panca (Figline V.no) Tel. 055 959596

Montefreddi SS. della Futa Via Montefreddi, 167 (Firenze) Tel. 055 8136601 Fax 055 8136921

    Centro ippico Ugolino in Impruneta

  2. around  San Gimignano --the medival town w/ all the towers -- are several horse stables & i have ridden at one of them.   rode around the area thru forests, etc for a day w/ picnic just myself & guide... check or email the tourist office there & they will give you current info...  http://www.sangimignano.net/contacts/?w=...

also, check w/ http://www.hiddentrails.com as they must know of something....have fun...
