I want to know what would be a good screen recorder for Windows Vista™ that:

-doesn't have a watermark,

-is free (not cheap, free),

-has zoom effects during recording,

-is capable of recording video, transparency, etc.,

-isn't some trial thing that stops working after oh-so-long,

-records sound via speakers,

-has mouse highlight and feedback (optional),

-and follows the mouse during recording

Yes, I know it's a big list, but I'm just having trouble finding one that isn't some illegal distribution of a commercial product such as Camtasia (I would use Camtasia, but it's expensive as heck and has all the other stuff like the video editing software that I don't need)

Bleh-heh, typing makes my fingers hurt!

  1. Try this one(now free, but just $24.95)

    http://www.totalscreenrecorder.com/downl...

  2. CamStudio is able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files and using its built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs)

You can download and use it completely free - yep - completely 100% free for your personal and commercial projects as CamStudio and the Codec are released under the GPL (for more details on this license, click here.)

  3. Really difficult to find screen recorder like that.
