Question:

Where can i find a great biology hook?

By biology hook, I mean something like a picture that I can display on an overhead projector when students walk into class that immediately catches their attention. Either because its controversial, intresting etc.

Most teacher's kit to the textbook will have these included.  Perhaps you can ask a company for a free sample to preview.  Also, with the proper materials (you can purchase blank, heat-sensitive transparancies) and equipment (copy machine) you can convert a picture you find in a magazine into a transparancy of your own.  Ask around, other teachers may share. "Hooks" can also be a super question on the board or a live fish in a bowl for example.
