Where can i find a list of all states in all the countries. Just the list. Recent one.?

I am making a website... for the profile details, i am thinking of giving a dropdown menu for country and state to user... if anyone has the list pls send it to me... Thanks a ton

Did you mean counties and states or countries and states? You can find info for countries on the CIA Factbook if you google it.

I generally am not a huge fan of wikipedia, but here is a start.

Also note tha the CIA Factbook referenced at bottom of wikipedia article is a truly excellent resource. If you use it, you will need to go through it, country by country. I do not think it has a summary list.
