looking to buy a long range radio to pick up spanish stations from other latin countrys

  1. Gearbox is probably right. But if it's AM radio, try a select-a-tenna

  2. Most latin stations, unless in the region almost need a outside antenna or a big length of wire inside the house to receive (there are websites describing these antennas for amateur radio use (look up hidden antennas or restricted antennas)

    But best would be a tabletop radio to pickup the major stations such as http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_e/105-...

    but for the regional and local stations, the antennas I've talked about and a good receiver are a must.
