Where can i find a magnet that can lift one hundred pounds or more?

my friend and i are cleaning a local river and it has a lot of shopping carts and the like and i need a super strong magnet to get them from some places. anything helps.

Having done this myself, a strong hook on a strong pole is more useful than a magnet. The tricky part was getting shopping carts and tires into a canoe. The toughest was a keg of spikes left by a railroad bridge; the keg must have weighed over 300 pounds. It couldn't be brought into the canoe without tipping, so we finally took the spikes out and distributed them over the bottom of the canoe and had one person get into another boat. Even so, the canoe rode with only an inch or so of freeboard, but the river was calm. We off-loaded the keg and refilled it with the spikes at the boat rental. You should have seen the expression on the face of the staff when they tried to move it! :-)

Not all metals stick to magnets.

You might not be able to pick up carts with a magnet.

I'm not sure that's going to work.

u can get them fromthe factory which makes the magnet or the shop which only sellls magnet on large scale.

You all may could rent one from a scrap metal yard...

Why don't you try the junkyards?. They always have cranes with huge electro-magnets that can lift and stack junked cars.
