When i type 'marching french horn fingering chart' in google it only takes me to mellophone fingering charts, even though they are different instruments and have different fingerings.

  5. If it is truly a marching french horn and not a mellophone, you need to know if it is a B-Flat or an F horn.  Compare the length of the individual valve pipes with those of your concert horn.  If they seem to be the same length as the short set of pipes, then it is probably a B-flat horn.  If the pipes are about the length of the long (upper) set of pipes of your concert horn, then it is probably an F horn.  If it is an F horn, then use your concert instrument fingering chart for the F horn.  If it is a B-flat horn, then use the concert instrument fingering chart for the B-flat horn.  If you follow these instructions, it is important that you play from an F horn part, regardless of the type of horn it is.  B-flat horn parts were designed so that trumpet players could play marching french horn without learning a new set of fingerings.
