Not knowing what type community service, how many hours,  or whether for school or for probation and whether you are a teen or an adult makes it hard to be too specific but food ministries always need people to load, carry things,arrange shelves, etc.   To find the ones nearest you go to http://www.secondharvest.com.  On the left side of page you will see a place to click for find a foodbank.If the foodbank itself is too far from you contact them for a list of food pantries in your more immediate area.   Red Cross and Salvation Army often need volunteers.  You can call your local shierff if you are in a rural area and ask about doing trash pick up along the road.   As someone mentioned there is a volunteer center in a lot of places or United Way can give you a list of member agencies who might be able to use help.   The library can often use someone to shelve books or clean.   THe nearest hospitalmay possible have something you can work on so may a local charity thrift store.  You are cutting it awfully close with this deadline so you may need to do whatever someone willlet you do even if it is boring or tiresome or not fun because the fun projects are usually filled up in advance.
