i just took the trip from new orleans to chicago and back, its was fun, and the staff was helpful, of course thats not what your asking. as far as promo codes, my friend got them after being signed up for some kind of email other wise i would call amtrak and ask what promos they are doing. if you have a AAA membership thats a discount also
