  1. Thanks for fixing that hun.

    K, try this place.

They're located in Collierville. I'm not sure where that is in location to you.

This place is located in Cordova, TN. Again, I don't know how far away that is from you.

Call a vet and ask if they can suggest a vet that cares for GP's.

    Good Luck!

Drs. Booth [moved: see below] and Pope both see piggies, as well as ferrets, chinchillas, rats, hamsters, rabbits, etc. They spay and neuter small animals, also. Dr. Booth [moved: see below] spayed one of my rats, and Dr. Pope trimmed the teeth on one of my piggies. Both doctors also treated my GP's for mange, as well as helping my elderly pig with arthritis and eye ulcers.

Dr. Barbara Booth at (don't kill me) a Banfield Pet Hospital

I've used Dr. Booth for years when she was with Dr. Pope. She just recently moved to this Banfield location. I trust her with general care of my girls even though I HATE the idea of walking through Petsmart to get to her. Just make sure you see her, another vet is supposed to be added and I highly doubt she'll know anything about cavies.

Dr. Booth used to be at Pope Animal Clinic, also in Memphis. She's a wonderful Vet, and great with piggies and other small animals. Be warned though - Banfield is corporate owned and sometimes they restrict what the doctors can do and what meds they can dispense without exams and diagnostics.

Dr. Greenacre is a small animal/ exotics veterinarian. She has helped me with both Bob and Oreo (boars, 6 and 1 1/2 respectively). Bob had a pretty big bladder stone. She examined him, did the surgery, and handled him after the surgery. His surgery went extremely well, the surturing was literally the best I have ever seen (just a small line, subcutaneous sutures, and never had any drainage or bleeding). Oreo had, and still does have, a nerve problem although he's in little pain. Dr. Greenacre was also great with him. She brought in specialists to look at him (only cost an extra $30), did various tests, and admitted she no longer knows what to do: I respect when someone admits this. She is VERY thorough and VERY knowledgable. Willing to learn and explain things to you.

I would be willing to also try her collegues at the clinic. The school has great resources, and various specialists which is very convenient.

There is also an emergency clinic after 4:30; the only one nearby which has vets that can handle small animals.
