It depends what you are looking for.  When you say search people for free, do you mean just a general search, or for criminal records etc..  You can use the website zabasearch.com this gives some information.  you could also use whitepages.com or superpages.com.  Also if the person you are looking for lives in the same county as you, you could go to the local courthouse and see if they have any criminal or traffic records, because most of the time they have addressess posted on the record.  You can also try Zoominfo.com this is where the it will tell you where the person works if they are listed on there. Or you can just google the name in quotes.  I used to work for a private investigation agency, most of the stuff you will have to pay for to get really accurate information, however this is a starting off tool.  I hope this helps, good luck!

On your search line write   PEOPLE FINDER

A list of quite a few will come up

There are many that will do it for no charge

They give basic info,

But quite a bit of info.

Yahoo People Finder is good and I believe it is free

I think it's best to use Yahoo as your search web and it

          will recommend many Yahoo sites
