  1. I think I can support Courtney here.   You cannot simply traffic in native wildlife.   You must have a special license for rehabilitation and /or  ownership.   If you were truely "qualified"  you wouldn't be asking here.     You should contact the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries or what ever they call it in FL.   Then you can find out what it takes to qualify as a rehab worker or as a life long care facility.   You cannot legally buy and sell wild animals.

People go to jail for that.

For Courtney,  there is a species of wolf (the red wolf) native to FL.   It's population is being reintroduced and protected now.

  2. In the United States, the keeping of pure wolves is prohibited by the U.S. Endangered Species Act of 1973

Exuse me, what did you say about having "experience" with wolves and wanting to keep one for the sheer and selfish sake of "having one"?

people like you p**s me off.

  3. It doesn't matter how much experience you have with wild animals. How much experience do you have with wolves? Just because you've "had experience" (what kind?) with wild animals in general does not make you prepared to own a wolf. There is also no REASON to own a wolf, and anyone that would sell or give you one is almost certainly an irresponsible person who is not properly caring for them.

Also, in Florida, you need to have a permit to keep a wild animal. Do you have one?

ANND even if you're sure that you're capable, and you find one, you live in Florida. That's not a good climate for a wolf.

  4. Start here:

ALL NEW APPLICANTS FOR CLASS II WILDLIFE , AND REQUESTS FOR UPGRADES TO EXISTING LICENSES, TO INCLUDE A FAMILY NOT PERVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED AT A FACILITY LOCATION, SHALL COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING:

For Class II carnivores (cougars, panthers, clouded leopards, and Class II canids):

    1) The facility shall not be constructed on less than two and one-half contiguous acres of property owned or leased by the applicant. If leased, the lease shall be for a term of not less than one year from the date of application and such lease is subject to initial and annual review and approval by the FWC as a condition of granting said license.

    2) The facility shall contain a “buffer zone” of no less than 35 feet between the caged wildlife and the facility property line.

    3) The cages of the facility shall be bounded by a fence not less than eight feet in height, constructed of not less than 11 ½ gauge chain link or equivalent, or as an alternative, a fence of not less than six feet in height, with a two foot, 45 degree inward angle overhang. The inward angle fencing and vertical fencing shall be constructed of 11 ½ gauge chain link or equivalent. This fencing is to prevent the escape from the property of any wildlife that may escape from primary caging.

A wolf is a Class II canid.

Once you are all set up with those requirements and have your permit approved, come back and someone will point you to a wolf breeder.

  5. you may have to go to another state to get one and they only eat so its gonna cost alot but they can be aggressive and look around for breeders
