I'm writing a paper on language ideologies and representation and need to find some examples as the basis for my paper. I live in Texas and many times, on the radio, tv, etc, you hear commercials about things but you can tell its very geared towards texans. They even make Texas edition trucks. I dont know if advertisers do this so much in other areas of the nation but they do here. "The long star state" is printed on Bud Light cans/bottles. I went down to the beach this past spring break and people from other states had never seen that before on the beer.

Anyways, the narrators usually have like a rough accent and uses words like "folks" and "yall" to try and show how much of a texan they are. Toyota is big on this now using famous cowboys from the area as their spokespersons.

Anyways, I just need some help looking for some of these types of ads. You can give me a link or something to periodical ads or tv/radio commercials. I'd really appreciate it.
