  1. There's one near Covent Garden in Langley Street - can't remember the name, but I remember the food. It was great...

  2. i don't know if its authentic, but there is a new Mexican place on the corner of Bethnal Green Road and Redchurch street which i hear from lots of people is amazing.

  3. Nowhere - an authentic Mexican restaurant has to be in Mexico!

  4. There's Cafe Pacifico, Langley Street, Covent Garden. They do everything in there from the well-known traditional Mexican dishes, to the more provincial dishes you've probably never heard of?

    Happy Eating!!

  5. In London, Mexican restaurants are called Indian restaurants. It's weird, I know.

  6. my most favourite is cafe pacifico:

    5 Langley Street, Covent Garden

its just off long acre and its absoultely awesome.  you must get a margarita jug, they're the best.  i guarantee it!

  7. Taqueria gets thumbs up from the London Time Out review.  It's very good, in Notting Hill.  You can buy ingredients to take home with you as well (fresh tortillas, beans, soups, salsa).  It's a small place, but the food is AWESOME.  The tacos remind of the ones I picked up on the streets in Baja Norte when I was younger.

Cafe Pacifico is a personal fav.  It has fresh chips and great salsa.  It's close to a good southern california mexican style restaurant.  It's a very good authentic mexican restaurant in the opinion of an former Californian.

Texas Embassy also has great fresh chips and salsas.  It's closer to real tex-mex in London than you will get elsewhere.  It's quite pricey because it's right around the corner from Trafalger Square and quite cheesy with a lot of country music and spanish language tapes in the loo.  But, the food is good!

Mestizo is a place I haven't been to, but it has some good reviews.  Most reviews praise the Margarita's and Time Out says that the food lacks a "kick".  But, it's on our list to check out some time in the future.

Cafe Sol, Mercado and Destino are also on the Time Out London listing, but I wouldn't put stock in these as "authentic".
