I have tried playing on www.chesshere.com . I really liked it. It's not like playing alone or with Friends. It's people all over the world with different styles. But you can only play 5 games 24h and enter only one tournament over 2 days.. it's not really enough for me. And i cannot pay. Does anyone know a good chess community where you can play chess with others, without hidden fees or memberships..? thx

  1. On Yahoo! Games, they have a large number of virtual "rooms" where you can set up your own table with your own time and invite other people in the room to come and play with you (or just let them come to your table on their own terms). There's also a chat feature that allows you to have an online chat with your opponents, if you wish. It doesn't cost anything, and you need not give away any personal info if you don't want to.

  2. yes, redhotpawn.com is excellent.

Also,    http://www.letsplaychess.com/chessclubs/...       ("Lets Play Chess")  is a site I've used in the past...

Both of these sites not only allow you to play chess with players from all over the world, but there are also some interesting discussion forums, not only on chess, but on every subject imaginable.   And on redhotpawn, the discussion forums are very active.

I haven't checked out the discussion forums at let's play chess for a while, but they were OK, not as active or prolific as redhotpawn.

They're probably both worth a look for you.  You can play a certain number of games without a paid subscription .

  3. redhotpawn.com. It's an awesome, free chess site!
