DO NOT PUT A FOUR MONTH OLD IN A BIKE TRAILER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait untill she / he is at least a year old...An infant is too young to wear a helmet.

I'm not sure about helmet usage in children under 1, I didn't get a trailer until my youngest was 2, but Chariot carriers have an attachment you can buy that is called an infant sling. It's intended for babies 1-10 months old, so they must have some safety guidelines in place.  There are also some carriers that have a car seat attachment.  I hope you figure it out!

in Massachusetts IT IS AGAINST THE LAW for an infant under a year old to ride in a baby seat or trailer.
