hmm, sakura.. eat all u can at downtown east..

dinner for $24.00.. but there r alot..and lot of vaerities.. if u r not shy.. bring along few plastic bags... dont worry they will not notice u..

after u r full, bring some home..

Cheap is a relative term.  You could have your birthday celebration at a hawker stall.  It would be cheap and also pretty good food, but that's probably not what you're looking for.

In Singapore, I like Califonia Pizza Kitchen on Orchard.  Good food, not terribly expensive, and pretty good atmosphere.  Plus there's enough on the menu to satisfy everyone.  Desserts are very good too.

You can try ordering ready to bbq food from a website locally. (If bbq-ing is your forte and have a bbq!)

The best solution is, if you are thick skinned, you can have pot luck. Very cheap, you just need a place, buy the drinks and organise it so that people don't bring the same thing.

Steamboat Buffet Tiong Bahru Plaza Raja Inn... $19.80.. all you can eat... cooked dishes free... Real durian ice cream free, Chocolate Fondue free... free flow ice tea/lime juice.... Great service too!
