  1. http://www.paperbackswap.com (lots of HS'ing materials)

    http://www.homeschoolbuy.com (auction)

    http://www.cbd.com (supplier)

    http://www.libraryanded.com (wholesale supplier)

    http://www.rainbowresource.com (supplier)

    http://www.homeschoolbuyersco-op.org (classifieds)

  2. Ebay is not a good choice. Many of us who are homeschooling boycott Ebay for buying or selling curriculum because of their Teacher Edition policy.

Here are a few of the online places I know:

Amazon (I list curriculum there, so if you need email me with grade level, subject area, publisher and/or title and I can see if I have what you need)

Homeschool Legal Defense Association has an auction venue similar to ebay, but specifically for curriculum. Go to www.hslda.org and click on Curriculum Market. (You must be a member in order to bid or buy.)

These are other auction websites for curriculum:

    www.homeschoolbid.com and www.thislittlepiggystayshome.com/auction...

www.vegsource.com has a curriculum swapboard. People list their used curriculum and you communicate via email.

We have several yahoo groups in our state where people list and buy/sell their books. If you go to yahoo groups and do a search for homeschool books and enter your state name, you'll most likely come up with several.

Some larger communities have homeschool/teacher stores, some of which have consignment or used book areas. You may also want to check your yellow pages for educational stores or used book stores in your city.

I hope this is helpful. If you are looking for something specific, it is OK to email me.

  3. Ebay or Amazon.com

  4. Cheaper than what?

Ebay can be a good source. But some curriculum providers aren't very expensive. Depends on what you mean by "cheaper".

  5. eBay.  Got a $30 textbook for a buck!  Good Luck.

  6. half.com

It's an Extension on ebay but the have all sorts of books half priced or lower, great  especially for college text books that can get spendy.Just like throwing your $$$$$ away. They also have children's, adults, and teen books. They got it all.

  7. half.com rocks!

if you use the ispn number most likely it will be the same exact book.  otherwise be careful of which edition or year it is.

  8. The cheapest source we use is the local library (free).  About the only thing I have to buy is a math text.  Pretty much everything else (history, science, literature, writing, grammar) can be covered with books from the library.

  9. Skip the textbooks. They are worse than garbage.

You can find great books at thrift stores (usually for $1 or $2 apiece or less), yard sales, Craigslist, library sales, and eBay.

We go to the Salvation Army every once in a while and come home with a carload of books. We have a home library now with hundreds and hundreds of books.

The kids learn from those. I have a set of Core Knowledge series books I read with them, and we used Hooked on Phonics to get the younger ones reading. (I made up the materials I used to teach the older kids to read, but when I had just 2 or 3 kids I had more time to spend with each one... Hooked on Phonics made it easy.)

  10. Try ebay or amazon
