I want to cruise to the Bahamas but I would rather not stay on the boat at night and stay in a hotel so I can enjoy the nightlife there.

  1. There are many ships that do have an active nightlife.  I would go for a Carnival cruise, which seems to attract a younger crowd that some others.

I don't understand the point of going on a cruise and not staying on it.  How would you get from one port to another?  Much of the traveling is done at night?

I don't believe it's possible to go to the Bahamas on a round trip cruise and get off the ship and stay there.  I haven't heard of any one-ways for that area.  There are some cruises such as many of the Alaskan ones that go either southbound or northbound, and then you can stay in your disembarkation port for a few days or fly home.

  2. Carnival has two three night cruises that leave from Miami and Port Canaveral that stay in Nassau for 24 hours. They leave on Thursdays and Fridays. If you go and stay in a hotel that would be an additional cost. You can go back and forth to the ship however.

  3. The idea of a cruise is that the boat is the destination.  Tell your travel agent that you just want to take a boat trip from Point A to Point B.  I'm sure you can appreciate that this will be much more expensive than a cruise.

  4. Then why pay for a cruise.  Fly there and stay in a hotel.  I would rather be on the ship than the Bahamas, the nightlife is GREAT onboard the ship.

  5. Then you should not be taking a cruise there.  Most cruises will not even stay over night in most ports unless it is a special port.  I would suggest that you just fly there.
