Depends what you mean by directions. Any of the hotels have brochures with maps inside that are very easy to read and are in english. The maps are very detailed.

most hotels have leaflet stands in the reception area,which always have free maps you can pick up,available in lots of different languages.

or,you can purchase maps from whsmiths-which have helpful tips for getting around/eating out/shopping in the city.

Google Earth can give good directions for almost anywhere in English
