i think to get missingno you talk to a old man in pewter city and then you surf at the west coast of cinnabar..

ditto is easily obtainable in goldenrod

i believe you CAN find missingo on gold but it can only be found once you get into the canto region... i dont know exactly how to get it coz i i didnt try as i was told it can break your game...
