  1. we use oldfashioneducation.com

  2. It's sooooo much easier today than it was 10-15 years ago!

Many local bookstores have homeschool materials available.  I would suggest joining a Yahoo homeschool support group.  (One that meets your particular needs... it seems there is something out there for everyone -- religious, special needs, etc...)

You can start to do your research online, find out what others are using.  Join a local HS support group and see if they have a Lending Library to help you save on your HS expenses.

Go to your local library and get some books on type of learners.  Find out how your child learns best... and mix her needs with how you will feel comfortable teaching her.

    www.christianbook.com is a great resource

www.rainbowresource.com  is another huge and inexpensive online source

But first you need to find out what will work for you and your child.  Don't forget that just because you start out with one particular thing -- you have the freedom to change and try something else.  It's not a lifetime committment.

Good luck and most of all -- have fun!

  3. You can find free materials at your local library.

You can find discount materials at used book stores like Half Price Books and online at places like http://www.homeschoolclassifieds.com

Here are some other tips for affordable homeschooling:

    Hope this helps!

  4. Not free, but extremely cheap and always at a fraction of the cost of new at ebay.com .  I bought much of our text books from there this past year.

There is freecycle.org   where you can look or post what you are looking for also.

You can also join a homeschooling group and trade supplies if the others are willing or they might just be getting rid of some things.
