  1. Most of the big city's have fairly large Muslim communities and it is relatively easy to find Halal food. In the countryside though it will be difficult

  2. There are a lot of halal foods by the train station.  There is a large Middle Eastern community there.  If you are in the Termini walk away from the busses and the ticket stands.  On one of those little side streets walk away from the termini.  About 3 blocks in there are streets with Halal food and restaurants.  Sorry I can't say left or right, but it depends on what door you are walking out of.  If you ask where the Hotel Mariano is, you will find the Halal stores one block past that.  I stayed there and there was a significant amount of grocers and a few restaurants.

  3. It can be found, especially in large cities. There are growing muslim communities.

I am sure if you go to the local mosque, you will find someone to direct you to restaurants that will serve you appropriate foods.

  4. There's a large Muslim community in Rome. You could try the neighborhoods with Muslims for stores or restaurants. Failing that, couldn't you go vegetarian while traveling?

  5. Can you eat kosher meat? They might have that available, but good luck finding anything halal. You can try going on a temporary vegetarian diet while you're there.
