  1. You could always order them online. You should go and get your foot measured though. If they don't measure them at your rink you could go to rainbosports.com and ti will teach you to trace your foot and you can send ti in and they will tell you what size you need. I would ask you coach what brand of skates to get and stuff just to make sure you will get the right kind of skate that suits your level of skating. Usually I buy my skates from the proshop in the ice skating rink. Your rink may not have that but I would think that was the best place to buy them from.

    Hope That Helps.

  2. online!

    google figure skates.

dont get the ones over $300

get some in the $100-$200 range (with the blade attached)

  3. i got mine at the local pro shop but you can find some really nice ones online too

  4. Skating stores carry them all year round, but a chain sporting goods store may not.  If you're skating a lot and taking lessons, I wouldn't suggest getting skates from them anyway.  They're usually pretty flimsy and only made for recreational skating.  Some ice rinks have "pro shops" where you can buy equipment.  There are a ton of places online to get skates, as long as you know your size, width and what brand/model boot and blade you're looking for.  I'd recommend rainbosports.com.  They're very knowledgeable and even if they don't have a shop in your area, they can be of great assistance over the phone.  You can also purchase skates directly from the manufacturer (harlick.com, riedellskates.com, etc.).  Some skate shops also sell skates on consignment, so if you're looking to keep cost down you can get skates a little cheaper.  Also if you're armed with your size, width, brand and model recommendation for your boot/blade set or individual (high level boots and blades are sold seperately), try eBay.  They have new and used skates for some pretty decent prices.  But be careful buying online.  Not all brands run the same as your shoe size.  Each brand is different; some run small, some big, some narrow, some wide, which is why it is so important to be properly fitted by someone with experience and to get a good brand and model recommendation for your skill level.  Good luck!
