Where can i find info on?

what life was like in 1962...like the fashion, what people did for entertainment or a night out? i really want to find info/pics of dance halls or balls room with decor like in hairspray's corny collin's set (the colors, ambiance...etc).

I know this may sound silly to some, but I have always loved the innocence of that era...

Try movies that came out that year--and four or five years before and after that date.

You could either go to a library or to the archives of the city where you live, or to the archives of a university near you. There they will have microfiche copies of newspapers from that time period and you can read all about it - all the fashion, all the arts and entertainment, and exactly what life was like.
