  1. I agree with that Yeochief guy.  2 acres seems like a lot to some, but in reality on our farm, we only farm 400 acres and that is small compared to most people.  Selling vegetables and possibly rare type of things to sell to restaurants and roadside stands would probably get you more money in the long run.  Good luck, I hope I was a help to you.  Hopefully this works for you!

  2. at the ministry of agriculture in panjim

  3. Are there farmers' markets near where you live?  What do they offer?  What sells best?  Can they be grown on a small scale?  I visited a home in Croatia where the family grew enough vegetables for themselves for the year in a patch smaller than my living room. With 2 acres, they could have supplied many more people.

Have a look at http://small-farm.org/organic.html  for some ideas about what other people do.  It does not say anywhere how big this small farm is.

tells of people farming 10 cares, with more than 90 different crops. Success stories.

Standard cash crops like grain, tobacco etc. would likely need a lot of land, but if you think it through, you can do well with hard work on 2 acres.

    The best of luck !!!

  4. As far as finding information on cash crops, the local government office of agriculture would be the best place to start.

While two acres might seem like a large parcel to you, it would probably produce the most cash as a truck garden.  If you can raise vegetables for local restaurants, you can possibly show a decent profit, however, be aware that such an endeavor will require a lot of labor. Field crops that are planted and then harvested, such as wheat or other grains aren't profitable on a small scale.

  5. I have to agree with everyone else, 2 acres won't produce much income unless you are going to raise vegetables... on the other hand you ask about a "cash crop" maybe you had something else in mind?  You could probably make a sizeable profit growing some, we'll just call them restricted, other consumables.  You could stand to lose the 2 acres and all the profits to the DEA though!
