  1. Go to "explore talent.com and sign up. you don't need a agent to audition for parts, you need an agent after you get the part, to ensure all the laws are being followed regarding your work. Your agent act as your representative, they step in when theirs a problem. God Bless.

  2. Open auditions used to be advertised in the back of The Stage - a newspaper which I presume still exists.  It used to be on sale in W H Smug.

  3. free auditions?  i assume you mean open ones.  check out the stage news paper, join a few casting websites like castnet, some you will need to send your photo and cv to first and wait for an invite, others will be a turn up and get a number.  subscribe to PCR as well, they have loads of submission castings advertised.

    good luck

  4. you should never have to pay for an audition...period. if you do then they might be trying to take your money. now there are exceptions like the regional cattle calls. they will ask for a processing fee. like UPTA (united professional theatre association) i think they charge $30. but there's around one hundred theatre companies there. if you're talking about film, go to an agent. they're there to steer you in the right direciton and keep you from giving away your money unnecessrily to random people.

  5. It's always best to get an agent, look for a showcase, invite them to a play, send them your showreel, write to them, phone them up, try anything!

Having said that,  there are some places to look for yourself.

PCR is subscrition only but it has some good stuff in there. You might be able to find a copy of The Stage in your local library or try a website. There are a few good websites that cost, like castweb, but www.mandy.com is free.

    Good luck.
