Where can i find information about iphones??

Question

I'm a NOOB when it comes to iphones and i need to learn what ''firmware' is..etc. i tried the apple website but i really need to learn to understand the iphone!

I used ziphone and my iphone locked i unlocked it a few times but now ziphone leaves my iphone in recovery mode for a long time. i was hoping maybe i can downgrade it back to 1.1.1 (devirginize?) and to re-use ziphone. would that work? thank you so much. XOXO
