Where can i find java programming tutorials?

Question

what i'm looking for is a tutorial that will walk through the creation of a simple program (a bit more complex than "hello world") unlike other tutorials where they just tell you how it works.

The best tutorials usually come from Sun's website.  Specifically, the following page lists a bunch of their introductory tutorials:

http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial

They start with Covering the Basics, then move on to Creating Graphical User Interfaces (intermediate level), and then end with Specialized Tutorials and Lessons (advanced).
