They speak a strange sounding lingo there called "SPanISH"

don't worry about anything else but Spanish , they EVERY Spain citizen speaks Spanish even if they preferred language is one of those regional languages (like Catalan)

in fact i live in Barcelona for 7 months now and i still do not speak Spanish, its to easy to get by with english and occasional German
