Where can i find more information on adoption?

Does anyone have any ideas , on my original birth certificate fathers name is blank.I have an adoption certificate with details of my birth mother and adopted father.

I have tried going through local council to help get information from this adoption certificate but they don t seem to be able to get anywhere (they have done searches but found no documents) is there anywhere else i can try

So - just to get this right - you want to find out who your bio father is - as your mother remarried and your step-father adopted you???

Is this right?

If there was no father's name on the original birth cert - your mother perhaps never told anyone - stating perhaps that the father was 'unknown'.

If this is the case - she is the only one that can tell you for sure who your bio father is.

You could try talking to relatives - perhaps they can remember the time around your conception and birth - and can tell you about boyfriends etc.

Hi, Possum is right your mum or family members are the only one's who can give you the correct info, I really hope you get this its not right when children cant trace where they came from
